ONE MORE SLEEP!

I'm not sure whose more excited about Christmas this year, my three year old who is currently bouncing off the walls, or me.  I strongly suspect it's the latter!

I'm sure you all know why I am so excited about tomorrow and it's not for the joy of watching others receive their gifts. (At least I'm honest) Yep, the reason I'll be waking up the household at 5am is so I can get my little mitts on the Canon 5DMkIII that is currently nestled under the tree, along with a couple of lenses that I have been lusting after for some time.  Yay!! I probably won't be using it much tomorrow, apart from to have a little play (how could I not?) but I am excited none the less!

Tomorrow is a snapshot day - that means I'll be shooting to record the memory, not for technical brilliance. Although I never use flash normally, if using it means the difference between getting the shot or not, then for Christmas Day I'll use flash, every time. As a mom, I'm sure I won't care when I look back on photos of Callum opening his presents and he has a little red eye. I also won't be taking a ton of pictures. Although I will want to record a few choice moments, as I'm sure we all will, most of the time I'll be enjoying my time with my family.  So, I'll stick with my trusty Rebel tomorrow, as I can pretty much operate it with my eyes shut!

No photo to accompany this post - I was all set to try to get a picture of Callum looking festive for you but my camera battery is completely dead. (he probably would have ripped the santa hat off anyway!)

So, that's it, all our presents are wrapped, Callum's stocking is hanging on the end of his bed waiting to be filled, our meal is all prepared ready to be cooked tomorrow and my camera battery is charging. Then just one more sleep......mommy's coming 5D!

Hope you all have a magical day when it comes!

merry christmas to you and your family! i saw a great idea on a board somewhere. if you set your camera up on a tripod and hold your remote, you can get candids of your family opening presents...you included! of course, i don't have a tripod or a remote (although i'll get that remote tomorrow), but it's a fun idea for those of you who do have that gear!

Ah jan it was linked to on the clicknmoms newsletter today (yesterday?). I saw it too! Great idea. Love that we are all making time still for our photography habit during this busy time. Merry Xmas to you Jan, to you Audrey, to your families, and to all the photo moms out there!
