Sunday's Snapshots: Painting

I'm bashing on through editing of all my 2013 photos (I'm on December - nearly finished!) and came across these and thought I'd share - even though you can just how messy my kitchen is in these pictures!

I hadn't been planning on taking any photos that day but when Callum decided halfway through painting to grab his swimming goggles, he looked too cute to resist taking a few photos.

His hands are actually a mix of several colours of paint, and glue.  I'm not sure whether he intended trying to stick his hands together or to the paper, but he seemed to be having fun so I just left him to it (I figured kids glue can't be that strong!)

I'm sure he gets deliberately really messy so he has to go to the sink to wash up. It's a bit of a ritual now that whenever we paint I draw up a stool, fill the sink with water and leave him to "wash" all the paint pots etc.  It creates more mess than the actual painting does.

Thirsty work.

All photos taken with my 50mm f/1.4 lens.

I don't photograph every painting session - in fact, the last time was probably the same time last year - it's weird to look at those photos and see that not much has changed in 12 months!

Hope you all have a great weekend.

P.S if you haven't already done so, please pop over to this post to critique Ashley's photo - thanks!

i absolutely love these! it's hysterical that he wanted to put on his swimming goggles! beware of flying paint when swim goggles go on!
